Brand Profile
MEZEL – A Fragrance Brand with a Story of Origins and Transmission
Founded by French-Moroccan entrepreneur Sophia Gyé-Jacquot, MEZEL is a niche fragrance house born between Morocco and France. It draws on Moroccan rituals and reimagines them through a Parisian lens. Founded in 2024, MEZEL pays tribute to living traditions—mint tea infused with ambergris, copper sprinkler filled with orange blossom water, dates offered at weddings—and transforms them into elegant and unexpected compositions.
Each fragrance is crafted by renowned perfumers Jérôme Di Marino, Mathilde Bijaoui, and Julie Massé, using exceptional raw materials with a focus on Moroccan ingredients. The result: textured, generous, contemporary perfumes that connect past and present.
MEZEL speaks to curious, well-travelled consumers who seek meaning, beauty, and craftsmanship. More than perfumes, the brand offers a world where cultures meet—and where sustainability is embedded from day one: vegan formulas, refillable bottles made in France, and a deep commitment to responsible sourcing. This structured and transparent approach has earned MEZEL a place among the 2025 finalists for the Responsible Innovation Award by the Fragrance Foundation France.
MEZEL means “at the dawn of possibilities.”
