Brand Profile
Founded in Paris in 1989 by Patricia de Nicolaï—great-granddaughter of Pierre-François-Pascal Guerlain—Nicolaï Parfumeur-Créateur represents one of the cornerstones of independent French haute parfumerie. Untethered by commercial logic and marketing dictates, the house was founded with the goal of placing the perfumer and the art of composition at the center of everything, without compromising on costs or the quality of raw materials. Patricia de Nicolaï—the first woman to win the prestigious International Prize for Young Perfumers from the Société Française des Parfumeurs in 1988—carries on a tradition of unique olfactory excellence, combining scientific rigor (she holds a degree in chemistry and a diploma from ISIPCA) with artistic sensibility. Unlike most niche brands, Nicolaï controls the entire production cycle in-house: from the search and selection of the finest natural essences to the creation and packaging in its own facility.
