Brand Profile
AEDES DE VENUSTAS relaunched its artistic fragrance brand in the fall of 2021, marking a new chapter in its story. Founded in 2012 by Robert Gerstner and Karl Bradl, the brand was born as a tribute to the art of perfumery, in collaboration with some of the world’s most renowned noses, including Bertrand Duchaufour, Alberto Morillas, and Nathalie Feisthauer.
The relaunch includes the reintroduction of seven iconic fragrances, from Signature (2012) to Pelargonium (2017), now presented in a redesigned bottle with peacock-blue accents—an homage to the brand’s original location on Christopher Street, NYC.
All fragrances are now produced in New York City, using oils sourced directly from France. They maintain a baroque and refined style, often built around rare botanicals and incense. The founders’ direct creative collaboration with perfumers allows for bold and award-winning results.
At the same time, Aedes Perfumery, active since 1995, remains a landmark for niche fragrance lovers. After more than 20 years in the West Village, it moved to the Lower East Side in 2018, where it continues to offer a highly personalized experience, both in-store and online.
“Each fragrance is a work of art,” say the founders. “And this new beginning… just feels right.”
